The Portuguese Foundation, Inc. is a non-profit, non-religious, non-political group dedicated to the advancement of Portuguese people, and dissemination of Portuguese culture throughout the State of Connecticut. The Foundation is prepared to work with all Luso-Americans in the advancement of our principles.
Established in January 1990, The Portuguese Foundation has long been focused on being a bridge for all Connecticut residents to the unique and wonderful Culture of Portugal. The Foundation strives to achieve its mission by sponsoring events that showcase or highlight Portuguese influences in multiple medias and venues. These include films, lecture series, networking functions, concerts and dinners. Beside cultural events, the group runs a Scholarship Program that looks to award annual scholarships to the brightest and most financially needy students of Portuguese ancestry throughout Connecticut. To this end, the Foundation gratefully accepts donations from all who wish to support our cultural events and activities, including our Scholarship Program.
The Portuguese Foundation, Inc. believes it is never too late for Portuguese Americans to connect to the rich cultural heritage of their parents, grandparents or great-grandparents, and encourages you to embark with us on a journey of exploration at one of our upcoming events.
